The Serenaders had a free Christmas Show for several years which the public enjoyed. Beginning in 2005 the event was expanded to include several church and bell choirs from Thanksgiving Lutheran, Pilgrim Lutheran, Immanuel Lutheran, Avery Presbyterian, First Baptist Church of Bellevue, Calvary Christian, Saint Mathews Catholic, Bellevue West High School, and Saint Mary’s Children’s Choir. Other years added a bell/guitar duet, harp duet, piano/vocal solo, dulcimer, string quartets, a guitar quintet, and a cello solo. This year, performers will be Bill Hetzler, a well-known pianist, playing famous movie Christmas songs; the Sarpy Serenaders, quartets Q-Street, Un-four-gettables, Yesterday’s Kids, and a bell choir, Truth Be Tolled, performing popular secular music about the fun, gifts, and family events celebrating the holidays but the real emphasis will be on the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Christ. The finale will be “O Holy Night” sung by everyone in the building!
